中國國民黨主席鄭麗文昨日偕同副主席蕭旭岑會見美國國安智庫「詹姆士敦基金會」（The Jamestown Foundation）主席孟沛德（Peter Mattis），針對兩岸情勢與即將訪美等議題交換意見。
中國國民黨主席鄭麗文強調，四月率團訪問中國大陸，是希望透過實際交流，確認兩岸是否仍有降低風險、維持和平的空間，也希望美國朋友能理解，台灣社會期待的是穩定、理性與避免衝突。
中國國民黨主席鄭麗文表示，接下來即將訪美，希望透過更多面對面的交流，讓美方各界更了解國民黨，進一步增進彼此理解與互信。

Kuomintang Chairperson Cheng Li-wun met yesterday with Peter Mattis, President of the U.S.-based national security think tank The Jamestown Foundation, alongside KMT Vice Chairman Hsiao Hsu-tsen. The two sides exchanged views on cross-Strait relations and Chair Cheng’s upcoming visit to the United States.

Chair Cheng noted that her delegation’s visit to mainland China in April was intended to explore, through direct engagement, whether there remains room to reduce tensions and preserve peace across the Taiwan Strait. She also expressed hope that American friends can better understand that Taiwanese society seeks stability, rational dialogue, and the avoidance of conflict.

Chair Cheng added that her upcoming visit to the United States aims to foster more face-to-face exchanges with various sectors in the U.S., helping American friends gain a deeper understanding of the KMT and further strengthening mutual understanding and trust.
